The Challenges of Advertising, TODAY

We move through our worlds day in and day out, obvious of the thousands of messages being thrown at us. HELLO, we are in advertising. What do you mean obvious?

You got it we are obvious to over 99% of the signage, broadcast, print, computer and mobil advertising around us.

Why do you think credit card companies such as Capitol One are always send out credit card apps? Every have those weeks where the same credit card companies sends you 3 or 4 different offers in one week. I got 3 offers in one day one time by the same company. WHY?

Simple they know that 99% of the time you are going to send that app to the shredder. They also know how ever that 1% of the time that you are looking to apply for a credit card you are going to apply to the one you receive right then. So they send you 3 or 4 a week hoping for that "right then" effect.

The simpliest way to get your message across to you target in any media is to be relevant when the target needs it. Easier said then done. Not really you just have to know your target and their buying habits. There is no excuse for not doing your home work.

Its actually pretty simple they are where people hang out. Where they meet. Where they discuss. Its where they connect.

Are they connecting to your brand? Are they talking about your brand? Sure they are, and if you aren't part of the discussion your competition is.

Distractor are trying to derail your brand everyday.

It is up to you to know what is being said about your brand, company, and experience. If you aren't connected then you aren't part of the discussion.
